Spice Islands & New Flights
Here’s a two-for-one announcement: reach the Caribbean island of Grenada with new direct flights from Toronto and grab a nice discount at Spice Islands Beach Resort.
Book before June 30, 2022 to take advantage of a 24% discount at Spice Islands Beach Resort on Grand Anse Beach, St. George’s. You’ll need to travel between July 1 and Halloween and book for at least seven nights. Book from Halloween to December 15 for a 10% discount. While there, enjoy yoga and spa services, walk straight onto the beach from your roomy suite and enjoy their quiet pools. The surrounding waters are quiet as well, open only to non-motorized water sports. They host weddings as well, so if that’s in your future, hey, what a great location to host family and friends, a triple AAA, Five Diamond paradise. There’s an activity centre for kids and premium label drinks for parents, as well as all-day excellent dining.
Complementing this discount to a special property, The Honourable Clarice Modeste-Curwen, Minister of Tourism (and Civil Aviation, Climate Resilience and the Environment) just announced the resumption of the Air Canada direct service from Toronto to Grenada. The nonstop service, which will commence on October 30, will be twice weekly on Sundays and Thursdays, connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND).
Minister Modeste-Curwen stated, “The return of Air Canada is welcome news at a time when accessibility and travel convenience are key to attracting international visitors. Canadian arrival numbers have remained strong, in spite of the absence of direct service, so we know that the demand is there. We are committed to working alongside our airline partners to ensure continuous connectivity to our country.”
“The news on the service to Grenada is welcome as the destination is pacing ahead of 2019 numbers and group business is up 37%,” stated Diana Rodriguez, Product Director, Air Canada Vacations.
Grenada Tourism Authority CEO Petra Roach says, “Canada is recognized as one of the most important tourism generating markets in the world with 41% of Canadians choosing beach destinations. To that end, Grenada continues to be a firm favorite amongst Canadian travelers with a typical stay of up to 10 days on island. This market has continued to grow over the years and delivers a great return on investment.”
Grenada recently rescinded its entry protocols making it easier for travelers to reach the destination. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers arriving into Grenada:
- Do not need to take any COVID-19 tests prior to arrival or upon arrival
- Do not need to fill out a Health Declaration Form prior to arrival or upon arrival
- Do not need to quarantine on arrival
